AI Automation & Infrastructure Specialist

This role goes beyond basic AI tool usage. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder capable of developing production-ready AI workflows, backend systems, API integrations, and self-hosted or cloud-based infrastructure. They will work closely with internal AI, IT, and operations teams to accelerate development, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure scalable, secure deployments.

The position combines AI automation, software development, DevOps, and infrastructure management, with a strong emphasis on real-world implementation and system reliability.

1. AI Automation & Workflow Development

  • Design, build, and maintain AI-powered automation workflows using tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar platforms.
  • Integrate LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) into operational workflows.
  • Develop automation logic capable of handling real-world scenarios, including error handling, retries, and structured data processing.
  • Connect systems across forms, APIs, CRMs, databases, email tools, and third-party SaaS platforms.
  • Support both internal tools and client-facing AI-powered solutions.

2. API, Integration & Backend Development

  • Build and integrate REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth flows, and third-party services.
  • Develop backend services using Node.js, Python, or Go.
  • Design scalable and reusable integration components.
  • Conduct testing and ensure reliability in production environments.

3. Web Application & AI-Assisted Development

  • Assist in developing web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Python, HTML, and CSS.
  • Utilize AI coding tools while ensuring proper code validation, debugging, and optimization.
  • Work with databases such as Supabase, PostgreSQL, Firebase, Airtable, or Redis.
  • Support deployment to platforms like Vercel, Netlify, AWS, Render, Railway, and others.

4. Infrastructure, DevOps & Self-Hosting

  • Manage Linux-based systems (Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL).
  • Maintain VPS environments (AWS EC2, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, etc.).
  • Configure and manage Docker, Docker Compose, and containerized deployments.
  • Support self-hosted platforms such as Coolify, Dokku, CapRover.
  • Configure reverse proxies, DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTPS routing, and secure infrastructure.

5. DevOps, Automation & Deployment

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible.
  • Manage repositories, environments, and deployment workflows.
  • Develop scripts for automation using Bash, Python, or similar tools.

6. Security, Monitoring & Reliability

  • Implement secure practices for API keys, authentication, and data privacy.
  • Configure network security, firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
  • Set up monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Uptime Kuma.
  • Support backup strategies, disaster recovery, and system hardening.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and security standards.

7. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Document workflows, infrastructure setups, APIs, and deployment processes.
  • Provide clear SOPs, build notes, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Support onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer.

Experience

  • Proven experience building and deploying AI automation workflows and systems in production.
  • Hands-on work with AI-assisted applications, APIs, or infrastructure workflows.
  • Experience working in startup, SaaS, agency, or automation-driven environments is highly preferred.

  • AI Automation tools: n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of DevOps, infrastructure, or systems administration experience
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible)
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS/SSL)
  • Experience with monitoring tools and disaster recovery planning
  • Background in AI product development or automation-based services

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is:

  • A technical generalist who can move between AI, backend, infrastructure, and deployment
  • A self-starter comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

  • A builder who has successfully deployed real-world AI or automation systems

They may come from backgrounds such as:

  • AI Automation Engineer
  • DevOps Engineer
  • Full-Stack Developer (Infrastructure-focused)
  • Systems Administrator turned AI Builder

Key Requirement

Candidates must provide:

  • Portfolio or case studies of real-world AI automation or infrastructure projects
  • Examples of:
    • AI workflows
    • API integrations
    • Deployed applications
    • Self-hosted or production systems

This role is strictly for individuals with proven, hands-on experience, not experimental or beginner-level exposure.
