INSURANCE VERIFICATION SPECIALIST
An Insurance Verification Specialist plays a key role in supporting healthcare operations by ensuring accurate patient insurance eligibility and benefits verification prior to services. This role works closely with healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and internal teams to confirm coverage details, support patient cost estimates, and help reduce claim issues. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with US health insurance processes and is comfortable handling insurance-related inquiries.

Perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification to confirm coverage accuracy

Review, validate, and update patient insurance information in internal systems

Prepare accurate patient cost estimates based on verified insurance benefits

Conduct outbound calls to healthcare providers and insurance carriers for eligibility, benefits, and coverage inquiries

Document verification results, call notes, and insurance details clearly and accurately

Identify discrepancies in coverage and escalate issues as needed

Follow established workflows, compliance standards, and payer guidelines

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate insurance processing
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience in insurance verification, medical billing, claims, or related healthcare roles
- Solid knowledge of US health insurance processes, including eligibility, benefits, and coverage types
- Familiarity with common insurance plans such as HMO, PPO, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Above-average written and verbal communication skills with a clear and neutral accent
- Comfortable managing outbound calls with healthcare providers and insurance carriers
- Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate multiple systems efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards
